This course is designed for MCLA grade students who have an interest in learning how to perform in a mariachi group. In this class students will learn to play traditional mariachi instruments. Students will research the history of mariachi music. Students will learn to sing mariachi songs in Spanish. Students enrolled in Mariachi will also be enrolled in Music Theory, where they will learn how to read sheet music.

We are starting to add in bowing with the violins. Please practice holding your bow correctly and gently playing with the bow. Only use the bow when you see bow markings. Otherwise, you will pluck the string.
