Welcome to the GRADE LEVEL PAGES!
Please visit the designated page for your grade level!
The primary curriculum is based on the California state VAPA standards. Lessons include fun, enriching activities in which students CREATE, PERFORM, RESPOND, AND CONNECT learning a variety of folk song literature of different cultures, performing repertoire for shows, enjoying instrumental play, reading, writing, and improvising music, and moving expressively through creative dance. The program is inspired and designed with Kodaly-enriched lessons which promote critical thinking, singing of folk music, sound before symbol learning, and musical literacy. (for more information on Kodaly, see HERE.) In addition, lessons are enhanced by the Orff process with activities of learning which gives children the opportunity to imagine, create, and improvise through creative movement, speech, drama, and playing of instruments. (for more information of the Orff process, see HERE.) Our extensive Orff collection includes xylophones of all sizes and many percussive instruments. Please bookmark each grade-level page and visit periodically for news, assignments, highlights, and concepts.
